THE END OF FAT TYRE
Fat Tyre is no more. Unfortunately the site just got too much for one person to run, and 'real life' took over.
Fortunately though I've been working with Jamie & James at wideopen since they got Issue 1 out of the door and the oppurtunity came up to get on board with them.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped me run FTMB/Fat Tyre over the 5 years, it was awesome fun.. and hopefully plenty more years at wideopen.
So what are you waiting for?! Head over to wideopenmag.co.uk now and download the latest issue!!!
(FTMB will slowly be 'deconstructed' so if there's anything you want to keep for reference on the site, make sure you make a copy now!!)

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? GET WITH THE TIMES!
Well well well. I've had a few emails asking whats happened to the updates, am I not writing articles any more? Well.. to put that one to rest theres plenty of articles in the bag. But not for FatTyre. I've been working a whole new website.. something quite different to anything out there at the moment in terms of features and the amount of information available. So most of my time has been dedicated to that.
Anyway, whats going on in mountain biking? Greg Minnaar is the World Cup Champ after a deserved season of consistent results. Rachel Atherton has destroyed the opposition to become both World Cup Overall winner, as well as the World Champion. Not a bad result from a small Welsh village, not to forget they originate from Cheddar down south either!
Turner has the DW Link, and news this week is that Dave Weagle has been working with his old bike company Evil Bikes on a whole new suspension design for a DH, a trail and an 'aggresive XC' (what the difference is can be anyones guess). So will this be DW Mk2? Did Turner know about this beforehand? Dave previously owned Evil Bikes, so to put DW bikes in the market would be a conflict of interests.. but now its been sold theres nothing to stop Evil.. gone however is the flaming skull logo unfortunately!
Right who has the news this week? As usual Dirt are on the ball keeping us up to date.
Jamie over at wideopenmag has a few cool videos from Commencals R&D maestro Nico. Check them out, very nicely put together.
Meanwhile Phil over at gravity-slaves has put together a nice preview on the new tasty five-ten shoes, seems someone was let loose with the coloured crayons at 5.10 HQ!
And last but not least, head over to littermag for spomers usual goofs and wicked shots from the worlds finest MTB photographers!
I'll put some previews of the new site up soon.. till then!

BALA REPO! BIT LATE..
Bala in my mind is one of the best tracks in the UK.. hand crafted with a massive digger it's unlike any other. From flat out top sections to tight trees and flat out grassy corners its got everything.

A week (and a bit) ago the Pearce Cycles boys had Round 4 of the series there, here's the report of how it went down..

SEASONS FILM REVIEW
A few weeks ago the new flick from The Collective dropped through my letter box, Seasons. Documenting the life of seven pro riders through a season of their lives.

At first I was a little sceptical.. but it works. And its even better than what they've done before. In short, worth buying? Yes. Read the review for the full details..

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS MEDIA ROUND-UP
Phew, after watching the mens DH final this weekend I was knackered, never mind those out there pedalling hard. It was thrills and spills all the way through.

One of the best DH races i've ever seen, and the best World Championships ever for team GB.. 3 Gold medals, 2 Silver. All for a small island.. not bad eh!
